Penthouse in London

Project 6 main bedroom elevation FINAL copy
loakroom elevation

The  brief  was to design a two bedroomed loft style penthouse apartment in a warehouse conversion in London to create a place where a couple in their 30’s,  could escape from work, unwind and relax.   The clients wanted a stylish informal and relaxed look yet with an element of sophistication, individuality and elegance.  Practical, functional, comfortable,  contemporary with a classic touch in a modern city atmosphere summed up the client desires. The space accommodates many activities in a relaxed and spontaneous manner.

Clients were very keen on a warm and welcoming space with a light,  fresh and uncluttered feel which had a sense of drama upon arrival.  They regularly entertain  and needed a space to congregate with family and friends. The couple both work from home from time to time and a study was specifically designed to have a workspace for two with plenty of storage space.  The bedroom is a luxurious area designed for sleeping, dressing and reading which has an interlinked bathroom with separate shower and bath space, storage and the capability to operate practically both for the morning rush hour and the evening relaxation.

Their love for sailing, skiing and the countryside in autumn was the inspiration behind the concept and colour scheme.
